Yardi Checkscan installation

1.) Disconnect the CheckScanner from the computer
2.) Ensure all older versions of Silverlight and Yardi Client Tool are uninstalled
I. Click Start>Control Panel>Programs and Features
II. Find and Click on Microsoft Silverlight then Uninstall
III. Find and Click on Yardi Client Tool then Uninstall
IV. Restart your computer.
3.) Reset Internet Explorer to ensure no rogue settings
I. Open Internet Explorer
II. Press Alt (on keyboard) then at the top click Tools>Internet Options
III. Go to the Advanced tab and click on the Reset button
IV. Check the box for Delete personal settings
V. Click Reset
VI. Once it’s done, restart your computer
4.) Ensure Internet Explorer is setup correctly
I. Open Internet Explorer
II. Press Alt (on keyboard) then Help>About Internet Explorer
III. Uncheck “Install new versions Automatically” then click Close
IV. Press Alt (on keyboard) then Tools>Internet Options
V. Under Browsing History click Settings
VI. Select the Radial option for “Check for newer version of Page every time I visit” then
click Ok
VII. Go to the Security tab and Click on Trusted Sites (the Green check mark)
VIII. Click Sites
IX. Unselect the check box that reads “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this
zone”
X. In the box that says “Add this website to the zone:” type “*.yardipca.com” (without the
quotes)
XI. Click Add then click Close
XII. Click Custom Level…
XIII. Scroll down in to the Miscellaneous section
XIV. Enable the option for “Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into
this zone”
XV. Click OK
XVI. Click on the Privacy tab and disable the Pop‐up blocker by unchecking “Turn on Pop‐up
blocker”
XVII. Go to the Advanced tab
XVIII. Scroll down to the security section, and ensure both TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are checked
and enabled
XIX. Click Ok then Restart your computer
5.) Install Silverlight
I. Login to yardi and click on Financial>Payments or Receipts>CHECKscan>Scan Checks
II. Click Click now to Install Silverlight Button
III. At the bottom of the screen click Run on the Silverlight download
IV. If Silverlight has a checkbox to make Bing your default search engine, Uncheck that box
V. Follow the rest of the prompts to finish installing Silverlight
6.) On the CheckScan webpage, Install Yardi Client Tools by clicking the Download here button
7.) Plug in the CheckScanner

8.) Select your Checkscanner from the Drop down box in the top left (Panini or Tellscanner)
9.) Click on the Open Scanner button (It looks like a USB symbol )
10.)Ensure the CheckScanner has full permissions
I. Navigate to your C: drive
II. Right‐click on CHECKScan SL then click Properties
III. Go to the Security tab
IV. Click on Edit then Click Add
V. Type Everyone in to the box, then click Check Names followed by OK
VI. Select Everyone then check the box for Allow Full Control
VII. Follow the steps below based on your Check scanner

i. Panini Scanner
1. Navigate to C:WindowsSysWOW64
2. Right‐click Panini OCR Param then click Properties
3. Go to the Security tab
4. Click on Edit then Click Add
5. Type Everyone in to the box, then click Check Names followed by OK
6. Select Everyone then check the box for Allow Full Control
ii. Teller Scanner
1. Navigate to C:Program Files
2. Right‐click Tellerscan then click Properties
3. Go to the Security tab
4. Click on Edit then Click Add
5. Type Everyone in to the box, then click Check Names followed by OK
6. Select Everyone then check the box for Allow Full Control

11.) Restart your computer one last time
12.)Your computer is now properly configured to scan checks
