How to see the WiFi password on your PC or Laptop

If you have forgotten the password to a profile you already connected to your PC or Laptop, here is how you can find it.

  1. Click on start and type “CMD” without the quotes. This will open a command prompt.
  2. At the flashing cursor, type “netsh wlan show profile” without the quotes and hit enter.
  3. Then use the following to reveal the password of any given network profile. Type “netsh wlan show profile name=”wireless ssid” key=clear” . Replace “wireless ssid” with the name of the wireless you are trying to show the password for.

There will be data that will populate. You will see the key under Security Settings – Key Content.
